". . . to the end that human rights shall be held more sacred than property interests."

This motto, from the 1937 founding constitution of the National Lawyers Guild, summarizes the Guild's dedication to the advancement and exaltation of human rights, and our belief that the law should be an instrument for the protection of the people, rather than for their repression.   Recent events, including the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United, demonstrate the paramount importance of our commitment to human rights and to basic change in the structure of our political and economic system.

Please join the Midwest Region of the National Lawyers Guild for a weekend of vibrant discussion, strategizing, movement building (and even some fun!) as we explore various aspects of human rights and law for the people.

This conference proudly brought to you by the NLG Midwest Region.
